Citadelle Jardin d'été will be a part of the permanent Citadelle gin lineup as of April, 2021. It is inspired by the garden of Château de Bonbonnet in Ars, France, which is a passion project of Debbie Gabriel, wife of Master Distiller Alexandre Gabriel. Meant as a "sensory postcard" of the place, the gin includes Charentais melon, whole lemon, yuzu zest and orange peel along with the 19 other botanicals used in the standard gin, which include juniper berries, lemon zest, cardamom, cubeb, coriander, nutmeg, Sichuan pepper, cinnamon, cassia, licorice, angelica, iris, almonds, fennel, cumin, star anise, savory and violet. It should be noted that just across from the chateaux is a newly cultivated juniper orchard. The gin is bottled at 41.5% ABV.

Fantastic on a whim pick up. This gin delivers on taste. It’s refreshing, citrusy with notes of melon, lemon, and yuzu. Very floral. Subtle hints of pepper and definitely juniper. Overall it may not be for those who favor more traditional flavors, but I found it to be delightful both straight or mixed with tonic, sparking water, etc.
A crisp Gin from France that has an aromatic birth with notes of juniper, citrus, herbs & spice; while a balanced life adds notes of citrus, melons, licorice & quinine; that led to a rich & smooth death with hints of pink peppercorn, citrus peel & white wildflowers.
This is an excellent gin with lots of botanicals. I prefer it with sparking mineral water, rather than tonic, which I find too sweet. Add a piece of lime and you will be delighted with the results.
Gentle overall, forward in multi-layered fruity citrus notes if anything, surrounded by hints of juniper, florals, mild pepper. Divine balance of summery flavors at a practically unbeatable value.
Bright on first sip and then the fruit comes in as it lingers. Seems well thoight out and nicely complemented and elderflower tonic water i had. Big fan!
Very fresh lemon/orange flavor. Very fInt melon and pepper on the finish. Like it with tonic. Really enjoy the crispness.
