The bottle certainly is artsy. The whiskey maybe not so decadent. Nose: Restrained and subtle, but what’s there is very good. Toffee, honey, apples, licorice, red fruits, nuts and herbal notes. Palate: Again restrained, slick, rounded, spicy and semisweet with dried red fruits, honey, licorice, walnuts, savory notes, hints of chocolate and vanilla. Finish: Long, savory and spicy. 2/14/26 bottle kill My notes are pretty much the same, but the nose on this has become my favorite part, very fragrant. I will consider another purchase. Bumped 1/4 point.
About this bottle
Art & Decadence is a limited edition blended whisky from Compass Box made with unpeated malt whiskies and grain whiskies aged in a variety of casks. The bulk of the blend (42%) was malt whisky from Balmenach which was finished separately in three types of dessert wine casks — Marsala, Sauternes, and Madeira. Malt whiskies from Linkwood (aged in Palo Cortado sherry casks) and Glen Moray (finished in oloroso sherry casks) as well as grain whisky from Port Dundas were also used in its creation. There are 9,496 bottles available worldwide. Availability in the US begins November 1, 2023. (SRP $180)

Reminiscent of hedonism but with more depth. The whole line up shares similar qualities. Great for sherry lovers and/or those who don’t find as much joy in the peated realm.
This is a laberinth of tastes, sawdust, cake, wax, peppermint, tobaco, apricot, creme brulee. Nice aftertaste, super complex option!
Reminded me a little of Balaveine double cast but a little sweeter overall, very enjoyable
