The nose starts with a burst of peat, vanilla, cinnamon and oak. It has a smooth creaminess to it, almost like a spicy creme brulee. It is wonderful to take in, building anticipation for a sip. The palate is very full with peat, pepper, cinnamon and oak bursting with flavor. Vanilla smoothness comes in behind to ease the sting as the mouth fills with flavor. It takes on a bit of a chew as it becomes almost savory. The finish is medium long, spicy and chewy as the mouth staus tingly. Its absolutely delicious in the simplest way.
About this bottle
Now part of Beam Suntory, Connemara is the peated expression of the Cooley distillery in the North-East of Ireland. While many whiskeys in Ireland are triple distilled, Cooley opted for a double distillation only. Some say Cooley is the Irish answer to Islay in Scotland and for sure Turf Mór Small Batch plays in the heavily peated category, at more than 50 ppm.

Campfire and wood perfume off this Irish whiskey reminiscent of the Irish country side of the past. Mouthfeel is rich as you gulp down what tastes like pure liquid peat smoke.
Very disapointing. Not sure if i was unlucky to get a wrong batch but bas after finish. Will definitelly not go for it again
Packed a punch of peat (more so than Lagavulin on par with Dunville) with long lasting finish. Fruity palate also. Beast.
Smooth Irish whiskey up front and a nice bit of clean smoke on the finish. Very good
I thought this one was oily and smoky. had it at cask and ale
