Conniption Kinship

Ok. So straight up, I tried to return this because it's just bad. But since it was opened they wouldn't take it back, so maybe I just keep reviewing it. And just to be clear, I like gin... On ice, neat, as a martini, even a G&T.... So it's not like I've never tried gin and am surprised.. tonight as a G&T... Slight fishy aroma as i go to sip. I get the lime, hit of tonic, and fishy beach flavor throughout... Tonic and lime can't help this one.....

I was thrilled to try The Durham Distillery's "Kinship" Butterfly Pea Flower Gin! Having visited many distilleries over the years, I found it fascinating to see their innovative process and how they've grown in Durham. The gin’s vibrant color and floral aroma are simply exquisite. A true gem (or should I say "Amethyst"). —five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

All of the other Conniption gins have been swell, this gin is a bit different. They went a long way to give a complex flavor, but everything tastes a but jumbled. The purple coloring works with other gins, but on this one makes me feel like im drinking oven cleaner. 1.5 stars because it turns pink when mixed with citrus.

Lovely deep citrus notes, mixed with a balanced blend of florals that we expect from a brand with such a close connection to the Gin Guild. Thanks to the Distiller.com App, I was able to post a picture showing the color, since whoever took the original picture decided to brilliently do so with an empty bottle....

When used in a gin Caesar. Trust me folks, I'm doing this so you don't have to. Still gross, while the gun does seem to blend towards to Worcestershire sauce, it still stands out as terrible. This goin is called kinship, but i think if you served this Caesar to s Canadian, we'd have all out war.

Wow!! This is not just a "purple colored" gin! To experience the variety of cocktails you make kinship was a fun experience as mixologist. Or you can have it just straight chilled and it is so smooth on the palate. I can definitely taste why this is an award winning gin.
