Copper Fiddle Rye Single Barrel

A thick, viscous pour with a deep, rich, almost red color. On the nose I get chocolate, light fruit, and a hint of agave. Wow. First sip gives peanuts in the shell combined with milk chocolate and of course rye. A light burn down the throat but it doesn’t linger too long. A few drops of water opens up the dram, bringing out the char from the barrel adding a buttery toasted peanut flavor without losing the sweetness of the chocolate. It is definitely reminiscent of a Snickers Bar. The burn dissipates with water, but isn’t really missed with this sweet treat. The drink covers the mouth and the flavor is rich. A solid pour from a local distillery.
