About this bottle
The 2015 Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old from Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection is the end of a short-lived era. Several years ago, Buffalo Trace loaded this spirit into a stainless steel tank to prevent ongoing aging, and has withdrawn from it annually for its release. That makes this whiskey, bottled at 90 proof, older than 18 years, although that's the correct mileage in terms of time spent in barrel. Next year is an entirely different batch, so it's a good time to revisit and remember this, and see how it holds up to next year's release.

Nose has brown sugar and vanilla with a burning undertone. Rush of rye drowned by oak followed by a burn spike. Finishes nicely with brown sugar.
Everything you would want in a 18 yr old Rye. Unbelievably smooth and sweet. The description is spot on! Cheers!!
Bottled Spring 2015 @Paydirt - Fantastic all around - balanced oaky and spicy finish.
Last of the original juice. 2016 BTAC Sazerac will be Buffalo Trace product.
