About this bottle

The fourth iteration to the aged Mortlach range that was launched in 2018 is Alexander's Way. This 14-year-old expression sits alongside the 12-, 16- and 20-year old Mortlach bottlings in the portfolio. A Travel Retail Exclusive, it is named after Dr. Alexander Cowie who created Mortlach's unique 2.81 distillation process in the late 19th century.

Simon Pugh 3.5

Smells like burnt pineapple. Quite fruity and sweet on the nose. Caramel too. Tastes sharp and peppery. Light and thin. Medicinal. Warming on the way down. Warming on the way down.

ZROBS 3.8

The double cask gives nuance and heated caramel sweetness from the bourbon cask. A decent easy drinking scotch and personally think it’s better than the 16.

karmaos 4.5

Drank it for the first time in ouranoupoli, September 2021 with cousins. Excellent whisky, very balanced and tasty. No extreme flavours or aromas.

Guy Cestmoi 4.0

Whisky de fin de soirée. On rêve d'un fauteuil en cuir et d'un bon cigare. Aussi appréciable avec des mets épicés et relevés.

Simon Pugh 3.8

Caramel and sherry cask on the nose Very peppery and oily. Mildly Sweet aftertaste, very easy to drink neat.
