Copper Sky Private Barrel Collection (ROC Elite)

The nose is an immediate burst of charred oak, earthy rye, smoke and a bit of dried flowers. There some smooth notes of vanilla and brown sugar with a bit of molasses rounding it out. Unmistakably rye, but well rounded. The palate is somewhat dry and fills with mouth with strong rye spice that is pleasant and not overwhelming, along with warm dried oak and a distinct earthiness. There is some sweetness behind it, but this dominantly rye. Surprisingly simple and straightforward, yet it is robust and drinks well below its high proof. Absolutely wonderful for a full bodied rye. The finish is medium long with a lasting spiciness throughout the mouth as dry oak fades in the background.
