About this bottle

DeLeón Leóna is made by blending and aging select tequilas from the company's private reserve. The tequila ages first in American oak, then finishes in French Sauternes casks for over a year. Backed by rapper and celebrity entrepreneur, Sean "Diddy" Combs, it's DeLeón's "crown jewel" of luxury añejo. Each bottle is presented in a custom box with a flask... and a price tag of $850.

The main reason it didn't earn a 5 star rating for me was due to the fact that a slight medicinal lingering component was present. Leona presents rich aromas of caramel, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and dry spices. On the palate we notice strong flavors of wood, spices, sun dried raisins, brown sugar, with lingering medicinal nuances. It's highly tannic and delivers an extremely luxurious mouth feel.
