I am a fan of Devils river bourbon and rye, so when I saw this in a store, I was excited to try it! Hadn’t seen it anywhere and was confused how it doesn’t have a listing on Distiller yet. Anyway, I really quite like this for what it is! What I’ve found with coffee whiskey or flavored whiskey in general is that it is hard to sip it neat, it just can be a little much in my opinion. But this is probably one of the best flavored whiskeys I’ve had. I prefer this coffee bourbon over the Jameson cold brew Irish whiskey. This coffee bourbon has a sweet coffee smell in the nose and when you drink it, you really can taste the distinction between the bourbon notes and the coffee notes. A little bit of iced coffee with sweetener in it, mixed with just a little bit of alcohol proof and the bourbon vanilla and cherry flavor profile. The follow through on this is nice. I don’t get any alcohol burn at all, and the typical bourbon notes actually go away quicker than the coffee notes. I like how I’m left with an iced coffee follow through as opposed to a bourbon. In my opinion this is better enjoyed when you add it to a little bit of iced coffee. Just added it to Starbucks cold brew and it made it significantly better (not just because it makes it an alcoholic drink, but because the flavor profile from the bourbon notes makes the cold brew taste more unique) Really enjoy this one actually, not sure why there’s not more of it out there.

I gave it a 4 as it does well for what I like it for. I drink it instead a Irish coffee. It does taste like strong coffee with strong bourbon notes more than bourbon with the hint of coffee.
Extreme presence coffee aromas and taste is just as strong. Its a particular taste for a particular night but when you crave it its great.
My first flavored whiskey. Really strong coffee. The bourbon notes are subtle. Something to drink for fun only. Not as a true whiskey.
All coffee on the nose. Tons of chocolate on the palate. A sweetness that lingers just the right amount on the finish.
Taste like watered down low quality coffee with little bourbon flavor. Yet burns on the finish.
