In the beginning it seemed very intriguing: natural juice matured with American whiskey for several months, an interesting aroma flavor. But eventually it appears to be disappointment, probably due to the expectations were a bit high. Concentrated cherry juice (more sour than sweet), some rye and classic American whiskey notes and (might be a result of mixing the previous two) a strong leather and asphalt aroma to the nose. But the taste is not that interesting and satisfying - what seemed to be a successful mixture turns out to be plain and inappropriate - the leather note does not quite correlate with an extremely sweet juice and whiskey so it may make a drinker feel uncomfortable. The finish and the aftertaste are the only things to be ultimately satisfying and pleasurable.
About this bottle
Leopold Bros Distillery revives the pre-Prohibition practice of sweetening whiskey by adding small amounts of fruit juices before maturing it. This whiskey is blended with the juice of Montmorency tart cherries from Michigan and then aged in ex-bourbon barrels. It was first released in 2013 and bottled at 80 proof.

Smells weird, tastes like nyquil. I think this is good for cocktails, but I wouldn't drink it neat. Try mixing with a really peaty Islay for an interesting combination flavor.
No sugars added, no artificial flavors. Keep it out of the sun and away from heat. Amazing with club soda or in cocktails, or just over rocks if you love cherry.
It’s sweet. It’s cherry. Slight spice. As a cherry obsessed whiskey drinker I just had a mouth gasm. Regardless of the fact is sweeter than I normally drink.
Sour cherry taste with the warmth of a good whiskey. Different but good!
Great for a snowy night!
