Smooth like all Don Q rums with cinnamon and olive flavor from the cask. Reminds me of a spiced up holiday drink but is not dessert like because it is too dry and only a little sweet. Different as can be, the closest thing to a rum old fashioned in a bottle.
Finally opened this bottle. I tried the double cask sherry a few days back and it was very good. This Don Q Vermouth is super smooth and light. The aroma is herbal and the finish is sweet and short. A very surprising drink from Don Q.
The best finished product by Don Q! I agree, the vermouth flavor is present but well balanced, does not overpower rum. Most puertorican rums are for mixing, this one is for sipping.
