About this bottle

Edinburgh Gin co-founder Alex Nicol wanted to create a gin that would celebrate the native botanicals of Scotland. On a quest to find unique Scottish botanicals, master distiller David Wilkinson began to look along the east coast of Scotland for inspiration. Originally a limited edition product that was recently made part of the distillery's core range, Edinburgh Seaside Gin is made with traditional gin botanicals, including grains of paradise, coriander, and cardamom, along with foraged Scottish botanicals, such as scurvy grass, ground ivy and bladderwrack. Following distillation, this gin is bottled at 43% ABV.

Nils Barth 4.0

Clear. Dried herbs, mild seaweed, usual spices. Salty, mildly savory. Medium-light body, smooth, short herbal finish. Match with a mild tonic, like Fever-Tree Mediterranean, or try in spirit-forward cocktails with mild mixers, like a dry martini: salinity without being dirty.

Tabbs 4.0

Overall light profile of juniper, slight freshness, slight spiciness, some sea air and saltiness actually. Minerality and slight spiciness is retained with tonic, agreeable all in all, but I would've liked it to be a little more boldly maritime.

Vincent Warner 3.0

Bland, but works well straight or martini. Just seems very middle of the road to my tastes though, doesnt seem to sell well in my area as is forever on special / discount.

Looneyhead 3.3

Nose cardamom, juniper, peppercorn, salty air, lemon peel. Mild palate; some pepper, salt, a touch of citrus. Short finish.

Toms Vanags 2.0

Fun experiment with unusual botanicals bot not my taste alley, salty, not quite dry or strong.
