Doesnt smell like much. First sip hits you with a lot of richness and spice. Lingers to a honey flavor at the end. Add a bit of water or drink over rocks and the flavor opens up a bit more.
About this bottle
Patrick and Henry Egan founded P&H Egan Ltd. in 1852 and it enjoyed a long run of wholesaling, bottling, malting and brewing operations until they shuttered in 1968 when competition in the marketplace got the best of them. The brand has now been revived by 5th and 6th generation members of the Egan family. This is a 100% pot-still single malt aged 10 years in American oak and bottled non-chill filtered.

I prefer this whiskey over most Irish whiskies I’ve had. It has more robust flavors than a typical Irish whiskey. It’s a bit hot but you have nice flavors of honey, spice and burnt oak.
a very smooth single malt that drinks like a scotch. Slight peat notes on the finish. Great whiskey for the price.
Sweet, bit peppery, little pencil lead, metallic note in the finish, would drink again
Sharp metallic note toward the end. Lots of pepper throughout.
Quite rich and smooth with a peppery finish
