About this bottle
Released in November 2019, Egan's Centenary Irish Whiskey is a limited edition release named to commemorate 100 years since the passing of the brand's co-founder, Henry Egan. It is a blend of single malt and single grain whiskeys which are married in French Limousin oak ex-cognac XO barrels. It is bottled without chill-filtration at 46% ABV. Only 5995 bottles available worldwide.

Very smooth and somewhat sweet. Like a good fruitcake with nuts. The cognac adds a distinctive flavor. I was lucky enough to have a couple of small drams at a book signing.
On paper you expect more from this. The alcohol overwhelmed the initial butterscotch notes, tearing out the delicate flavours.
I can almost smell carmel, smooth but not much going on in flavor to me
