The nose is soft with notes of straw, cereal notes, fresh fruit, oak and vanilla. It is very gentle and not in your face. As it breathes, it becomes a bit more fruity sweet. The palate is just as gentle with notes of grain, dark chocolate and oak. It is quite robust yet not overpowering. With time, notes of fresh fruit come out but overall, this remains rather simple yet tasty. The finish is medium with lingering notes of dark chocolate and grain. Very enjoyable to sip on even though after 15 years the flavors are not the most intense. It would definitely could benefit from being at a higher proof.
