AnttiRG 3.5

A rich Single Malt Whisky by Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery in Yorkshire, England crafted with 100% homegrown barley & aged in ex-Bourbon barrels before being bottled at 46% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, wood, fruit, nut, herbs & spices; while a rich life adds notes of barley, apricot, vanilla, mint & maple syrup; that led to a creamy death of medium length with notes of gingerbread, orange zest, chocolate, honeycomb & hazelnuts. Nose: apples, barley, cedar, maple syrup with time Palate: barley malt, vanilla, hint of hazelnut Finish: short, clean, orange pith A little thin. A little hot. But sweet and inoffensive. I’ll happily drink it but wont go looking for it to buy. Edit: on rocks it gets pleasantly creamy. This is better with a cube. (Flaviar Advent Calendar)

Ok, first stab at an English whisky… note I didn’t say Scotch… about what I expect from the Brits… pretty uneventful ol chap! Mild flavor notes with a hint of nuttiness on the backside. Not bad but certainly not one l’m gonna chase down.

Points for uniqueness though may not be what I am seeking in a whiskey. Huge fruit, i get pear and apple but apricot might be lurking as well. Not a ton of depth for a single malt though the flavors as presented offer something fun.

Nose: Lots of orchard fruit and some crusty bread notes. Palate: Creamy mouthfeel. Brown sugar and some gently cinnamon spiced apple. Finish: A warming spice and slightly unsalted peanut end. It's a bit meh for me.
