This WB seems even harder to come by than last year's was, which was slightly underwhelming. Was expecting to be disappointed. Right off the bat, the nose impressed, with pleasant aromas of whipped cream, berries, and agave, and not a hint of ethanol. The creaminess was still present on the palate, which was light and fluffy, and a little sweet. This is the most unique of the four Winter Blends I've had, and possibly the best. In some ways, the lack of disappointment is a little disappointing, as I'd love for the Fortaleza hype to be over already.
About this bottle
This is the 2024 release of Fortaleza's limited edition Reposado, which is rested in a combination of select casks. This expression is composed of the brand's Still Strength (46% ABV) blanco that is matured in different ex-cream sherry barrels. These are then blended with barrels of 3-month-old Reposado and 10-month-old Reposado in re-used ex-bourbon casks. The result is a Reposado that is bottled at 46.5% ABV released in very limited quantities, around 10,400 bottles as of November, 2024.

My favorite winter edition. Brilliant with notes of cooked agave, canteloupes, lemon meringue pie, key lime pie, star anise, ginger, cinnamon, christmas cakes, sultanas, almonds, raisins, golden syrup, plums, dates, and apricots.
