It smells a little sour and mushroomy. The palate is has a lot of minerals and also a rich apple-grape (raisin but not as dark actually) flavor. There's a bit much alcohol and the mineral is too present along with some odd mushroom notes, but the rich, sweet apple flavor is quite good. The finish is bitter and kind of dry. There is something good at the heart of this drink, but the rest is rough. I'm not a fan of this as a sipper, but it is a kind of interesting experience. Way too much of that alcohol taste. Some anise eventually comes out, which is interesting, bit also out of place. Some of the herbal and spice flavors are interesting, but they also make the alcohol and minerals more pronounced.
