About this bottle

Gin Lane 1751 is named after two significant events in the history of gin production - William Hogarth's "Gin Lane" which depicted gin drinkers committing criminal and immoral acts, and the passing of the Gin Act of 1751, which heavily restricted the public sale of gin. As a result of these events, gin transformed from a low-quality spirit to a high-quality spirit sought after and enjoyed by wealthy Victorian drinkers. This London-dry gin expression honors the legacy of high-quality Victorian gin. It is made with 100% pure grain spirit and eight botanicals: juniper, orris root, seville orange, angelica, sicilian lemon, star anise, cassia bark, and coriander. These botanicals are macerated in the spirit for 24 hours before being distilled. The final product is then bottled at 40% ABV.

Gentle floral flavor. Pleasing, warm finish. Subdued, but well done.
