This is my only tequila bottle and this is as close as you can get to perfection. The nose is silky chocolate and the palate is smooth, very light smoke, and more smoothness. The finish is heavenly. This is a pricey bottle, but if you are looking for a special drink, for that special occasion, memory, this has to be on your list.
About this bottle
This tequila was released in 2014 under the Gran Patrón label from Patrón Spirits. After being steamed cooked, the agave piñas are crushed under a "tahona" - a large volcanic stone wheel - to extract the agave juices for distillation. After distillation, it is then aged in a hybrid American oak/French Limousin oak barrel for four years. This ancient process using the tahona gives this tequila its name (piedra is Spanish for "stone"), and the inspiration for its unique bottle design.

Very vegetable nose with notes of green pepper/jalapeno. Vegetable-agave taste with light sweetness and long aftertaste similar to some Jamaican agricole rhum. Overall, it is a good bottle for tequila enthusiasts but definitely not unique.
The best liquid I have ever tasted. I'm a big rum and tequila guy and my favorite previously was Clase Azul and this absolutely knocks that out of the park. If I could give this a 5.5 or a 6 I would easily do so
Nice smooth expression with notes of vanilla, caramel, Agave, white chocolate, cherry, peach, hints of jalapeño and smoke with a nice creaminess and smoothness. Prefer Burdeos though.
Really interesting smoke tends to this. The only thing it's missing is a fuller mouth feel but the packaging and over all value is there.
Drier than I expected, but not thin on flavor. A bit woody. Fun to try.
