This is a fantastic offering. The nose is richly sweet like melted caramels and vanilla, slight tobacco smokiness and spice. The palate is rich and oily; the caramel and vanilla show first lending way to a nice but not overwheling oak note; finishing sweet before the bourbon really opens and hits you with a long pleasing warm/spicy finish. A fine neat sipper.

About this bottle
Hardin's Creek is a series of rare and unique whiskeys from James B. Beam Distilling Co. For the brand's Kentucky Series — a three-part bourbon series — the aim is to explore "Kentucky terroir" within the Beam Family distilling campuses of Clermont, Frankfort, and Boston. This is a very complex bourbon. Love the sweet oak, tobacco, vanilla, and honey flavors. A perfect balance and fantastic pour. Supposedly this was Fred B. Noe’s favorite of the Hardin Creek releases.
Soft and round entry, with a hefty mid-range of flavors including baking spice, caramel, toasted nut and mild oak. A warming bourbon reminiscent of languid summers.
