How am I the first person to review this? I’ve now had this bottle open for a week so figured it was time to do a little review… Nose is full of fruit. I’m not a wine person so I don’t know what marsala tastes like but it seems a lot more red berries than most of the bourbon I have. There’s a good amount of honeyed sweetness in there too. 4.5 if I was just grading the nose. Palate is a little less appetizing but not terrible. Tastes a little young and harsh. Like it’s 98 barrels of the young component and one each of the 15 and 16 year old. Unlike Remus Repeal and OKI Reserve, this doesn’t give us a percentage breakdown of how much of which component. WOULD LOVE THAT INFO IF ANYONE HAS It!!! This has none of the maturity of EC18 or even Weller 12. I like brash when it’s Islay peat or 135 proof cask strength stuff but at 101 it should be a bit “smoother.” I like it but I can see people shying away from the $125 price tag. I live in a control state so, for limited stuff, our prices tend to be lower than the average. Finish is actually really strong too. A little citrus or tropical and the finish is decently long for a lower proofer. I’m open to revising if it opens up after a few weeks or the bottle gets a little lower. This started off strong and finished nicely as well. I imagine it’ll get better with some air. Cheers

Nose- rich berries abound along with vanilla and butterscotch. It then turns to a rich milk chocolate. Palate- Chewy chocolate nougat with a raspberry jam center. Deliciously rich and decadent with a smooth, buttery coating. There is a puff of smoke and some beautiful tasting salt water taffy. Finish- there is a bit of heat through the chocolate and jam that gives way to a slight bit of clove. The finish goes on in waves. Overall- I am super impressed by this bottle. Some may find this a bit on the sweet side of things, but for me it is just the right amount of a sweet indulgence. It's a rich, chocolate and jelly in the middle type adult liquid candy. Of all the "limited editions," and "finished whiskies" that are out there I found this to be the most thoughtfully done.
After resting the bottle, I tried the last 1/3rd. Here is the scoupe- It does EVERYTHING a top 10 bourbon should do.....but not the being the best in anything a top 10 is. That said.....do not pass this bottle up! It is an unsung hero in a sea of limited releases that just dont outkick it. This is a worthwhile limited release that doesn't have huge secondary markup.
Nose: Orange peel, oak, Candied almond, Brown sugar, Caramel, Vanilla, Toffee Palate: Dry orange peel, Vanilla, Honey, Coats the palate nicely and is pleasantly drying with a touch of oak midpalate. Finish: Gentle hug with a sweet candied orange peel, vanilla, and sweet oak. Very nice finish that is not powerful, but gentle, caressing and sweet.
Nose - Ethanol peanut brittle spicy pepper cinnamon. Perfectly cooked toast. Palate - Nutty and oaky off the tip of the palate thats followed up with a vanilla cream. Little leather at the end. Finish - Finish is medium with a thick cream taste/feeling.
Nose of vanilla caramel and toffee with a bit of corn dustless Palate has a creamy texture of dark berry, clove and oak char Finish is longish with dark chocolate cinnamon notes Excellent complex pour
