Look, I can’t say much about drinking this straight (not entirely sure why anyone would), so my review is strictly about the sheer joy that comes from its use in a Sazerac cocktail. You want to taste the sublime, drink a Sazerac!!! It’s a simple old world American cocktail that’ll turn even the snobbiest “neat” drinker into a cocktail believer. If you in fact do order a Sazerac and you find yourself watching some giddy hipster bar tender putting anything in the glass other than Herbsaint, Peychaud’s Bitters, sugar or simple syrup and Straight Rye Whiskey... you ain’t drinking a Sazerac!
