Hirsch Selection 25 Year Rye

About 3 years ago I ordered a dram in one of the suburb restaurants in Stockholm. Not me and barmen either didnt know that it is a rare and special whiskey. It cost me around 10€ a dram. Nose: allspices,caramel, cinnamon, wood,coffee Palate: thick burnt sugar, mollasses, dried fruits , old wood. Finish: spicy ,nutty , sweet ,chocolate, coffee,leather. Very delicious rye whiskey, my oldest so far.

Aromas are lots of spice and caramel. Flavors are similar to nose, add in some pumpernickel and great balance between sweet bitter and just right burn. I got the bottle at least 7 years ago and just opened it. Big mistake because the cork had gone bad. It was still sealed but I ended up with some of the cork in the liquid. I need plenty of roughage anyway.
