Last drops of a bottle purchased for a small group of guys - poured from an Aged & Ore bottle...and admittedly before I start to put together this rating, I know I love this whiskey, and I'm sad to see it go... The look is very standard - medium amber...modest legs if I give it a healthy swirl, but nothing to write home about. Nose is sweet and inviting - mild rye spices, plenty of vanilla, and surprisingly full of dark fruits - honestly gets better as it sits in the glass...its full and suggests a higher proof, but is never heavy or overpowering. The sip is enjoyable and oak forward...more wood than spice...and if I were to nip this blindly, I would think this was notably older than 10 yo. I'm catching oak, cherry, nutmeg, other baking spices, but again, this isn't a rye-forward rye. Its very easy drinking, but admittedly far from the most complex pour I've had. Moderate viscosity on the sip...and the finish is quite strong...maybe a bit more spicy on the finish than at any other point. This is a very, very good pour...and I'm sad to see it go, but my memories are maybe a bit loftier than my sip this evening would suggest. That shouldn't be taken as a slight, but I was seriously looking at some secondary prices before I nipped this tonight, and after enjoying my last dram, I'll simply accept that this was indeed my last dram of this whiskey...

Received as a gift from a friend so no prior knowledge of proof or cost. Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Dark amber. Nose: Dark fruits with some mint and graham crackers. Palate: Spicy clove and cinnamon coat the tongue. Finish: Very warm and a food length. Splash: A few drops of water calm the spice and allows some mint and oaky tannins to shine. Overall: 9.5/10 - This is a fantastic rye which could stand up to ice or a mixer, but is great neat in a glencairn.
Sweet nose. Vanilla bomb with slight caramel and a tingly spice on the tongue. If you’re patient enough to wait and see how long the finish lasts it lingers quite a bit with all the listed flavors popping off on the tongue. However, it’s difficult to wait for the next sip. Its that good. I didn’t get the tea clove or spearmint notes listenin the pro review
Nose: peanut brittle, caramel Body: medium Palate: minty, rye Finish: medium Note: first sip was confusing, winter mint (?), tasty good not great.
Wow, ive never smelt such a “cinnamon apple pie” bomb in my life. Wonderful rich whiskey that drinks beneath its proof
Has a great spice kick but with a sweat finish. Awesome flavor!
