Exceptional. Plenty of juniper berries and usual gin tones (lemon, cardamom, cassia?) makes it a great pour. Then comes the oak: wood is quite clear and balanced, but it's that elegant Islay peat that makes my day Tried it neat, on a gin-twisted Old Fashioned, and on a floral gin tonic. It stands tall however you drink this.
About this bottle
FIRKIN gin was released in 2015 by the Gleann Mór Spirits Company, known for their independent bottlings of single malt Scotch whiskies. Islay Rested FIRKIN Gin is a limited edition release that begins with a base spirit infused with botanicals, including juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, and orris root, which are then distilled four times. This gin is then matured for a short period in American oak casks previously used to aged whisky from the Islay region of Scotland. This gin is then bottled at 46% ABV.

More savory than sweet, well balanced. On the rocks without tonic.
