N: Copper penny, corn, ethanol, wood spice. P: Sweet corn, caramel, vanilla, hint of dried red fruit, hint of coffee. F: Dried red fruit, dash of oak, a scintilla of spice. About the weakest bourbon finish I can think of, aside from turning actively bad. Just not much here. Wanted to try a bourbon name I hadn't tried before. I've flirted with Jefferson a few times - who hasn't - but never took the old bastard home before now. This is about as basic of a bourbon profile as you can get. There's nothing wrong with it, but nothing particularly right about it either. Plays everything safe. And is completely forgettable as a result. The smoothness and approachability would play better at about a $10 lower price tag. ____________ Please come join an unofficial Distiller community on Discord (now one whole year old!): https://discord.gg/VSmCvzAQfH. Overall: Very similar to Redemption bourbon. The bottle has been sitting with an 1/8th left for some time now, so some of these tastes have morphed throughout its life. At the price of $35 it didn't really impress me then, and I don't think I'll buy it again. It was always quite light in flavors and quick in the finish, and while I don't mind that sometimes I prefer something more robust when I get above $30. Nose: Butterscotch, and syrup Palate: That package of mandarin oranges you'd find in a kids lunchbox, with a touch of vanilla, and a numbing clove spice. Finish: Light and short, the mandarin orange carries through along with a white syrup.
The nose is very mild with a vanilla note front and center. Honey, apple, and a smidge of caramel are also apparent. Vanilla is the key tasting note, but some white grapefruit and honey is also present. It is surprisingly oily for an 82 proof offering and the finish lingers for a fair amount of time with sugars and some mild spice. Overall a very simple bourbon and nothing at all remarkable. Very smooth and an easy sipping whiskey. Nose: 2.5/5 Taste: 3/5 Overall: 2.75/5 Repurchase: No - so many other offering better and more affordable Type: Daily Drinker
Dark golden straw with a bit of an amber hue to it. Slow forming but voluminous legs. Nose is caramel, burnt sugar, vanilla, and a good bit of musty stored corn. Notes of citrus oil and eucalyptus pop through. The sweet front is well balanced with barrel char and dry oak. Medium finish. Nothing overly complex, but all the right stuff is there. The send off is a nice blend between the vanilla and a bit of residual warmth of spices
Very mild. Light n the flavors of apple, vanilla and spice. In this price range there a many better bourbons. It's a good dram for someone starting their bourbon journey, but it's too expensive for that..
Honey and cherry and vanilla and caramel. Thats juat the nose. The palate brings on more of the same and introduces some wood and leather notes. Very easy drinking. Tasty stuff.
