So after several attempts at writing a review of this Bourbon, I am sitting down and making it happen. This is a solid Bourbon that can be found nearly everywhere and is right down the middle in its flavor profile and that is not a bad thing. I was going to compare this with JB While Label but while it is in the family line it is what happens when you leave White Label in longer and don't dilute it as much. This is such a solid drink it should be the first non-wheat bourbon a person being introduced to Bourbon should have. For a wheated Bourbon try Makers Mark or Larceny. Jim Beam Black Label is good in everything I have thrown at it. Neat it is drinkable and smooth with classic Bourbon notes of vanilla, caramel, and wood. It mixes well with coke and ginger ale. It makes a passible Old Fashioned but it does not hold up well in it. Overall, this is such a great drink at its price point I have nothing bad to say about it. Enjoy.

Tried at a bar in a tiny Route 66 hotel, just out of curiosity. Nose: corn and vanilla. Sweet. Mouthfeel: oily and drying First sip neat: like another reviewer stated, not as sweet as it smells. Surprisingly smooth. Corn and oak, some vanilla and caramel. Typical bourbon with some spice on the finish. With water: I feel like it actually gets a little spicier. The corn is more pronounced, but becomes a buttery caramel corn. Slight hints of orangey citrus. Finish: medium, spicy, and mouth-drying. All in all, it’s not terrible. Pretty decent, for the price point. I like it better neat. I tend to like mine a little sweeter, but I would drink this again. I wouldn’t buy a bottle, but I’d drink it in a bar or restaurant.
Classic and wonderful nose; not overly complex, just good. Vanilla, caramel, baking spice, some Juicy Fruit. Palate follows suit, with even more baking spice. Smooth, with a nice spice to the end, and a lingering slight okay bitterness. The Juicy Fruit makes a reappearance at the end. Creamy mouthfeel. Nice hug, surprising for the proof. 6/19/18
For its price, this is a great bourbon. A clear step up from the white label. The nose has the Jim beam spice mixed with some smoke and wood. The taste is less sweet than the original, tasting like charcoal, green apple, and a little bit of vanilla. The aftertaste is a tad harsh, but long and pleasant overall.
My favorite Beam offering. Lucky to find some mini bottles well after the demise of the bourbon at Alfies Liquors in my area. Mouthfeel is suprinsgly chewy. Big on oak smoke and spice. Nose is corn. Not as sweet as it smells. Delightful surprise, I usually don't care of Beam stuff.
Jim Beam Black Label Double Aged 8 Year Bourbon has a clear, deep-copper appearance. The aroma is of sweet corn and some char. The flavor is of those elements, with some dried fruit-cake fruit and honeysuckle nectar. The body is medium, and it finishes moderately long. RJT
