About this bottle
Knickerbocker Gin is produced by New Holland Brewing, a craft brewery and distillery based in Holland, Michigan. The brewery originally opened in 1996 and began distilling spirits in 2002. In honor of the heritage of the Dutch founders and settlers in Holland, Michigan, the distillery named their gin "Knickerbocker" - the name originally given to Dutch settlers in the US. This gin is made with a twice-distilled neutral grain spirit. 12 botanicals - juniper berry, coriander, angelica root, orange zest, lemon zest, cinnamon, ginger root, orris root, cardamon, fennel, clove and nutmeg - are then infused the spirit. It is then filtered three times before being bottled at 42.5% ABV.

Very unique gin. Lots of orange peel in the taste. Unique gin & tonic with orange instead of lime. Still, I have lines on hand more often and tend to go for traditional london drys, so this fine would get passed over often. For the price, I prefer beefeater 24 or bombay sapphire.
Outstanding American gin... Leans into a citrusy, herbal botanical profile with classic juniper notes. Beautiful in cocktails, bringing a pretty unique profile of flavors, but that same profile makes you want to sip some neat for the experience.
Lots of pine on the nose. Flavor has a surprising amount of citrus, with a nice balance between the citrus and juniper. Warm going down. Great stuff!
Flaviar sample: orange, lemon, pepper with thick oily mouth feel. Flavorful but very long lasting pepper aftertaste
Very pleasant. Unique taste. Well done for a Michigan gin, but botanical mix isn't world class.
