Batch 005. This one's a keeper. Laphroaig 10 at cask strength! For the strength and peat, it has a sweet nature about it that I find very appealing. Lemon comes through after adding some water. Beautifully long, smoky and briney finish. I have blended this with a couple of other single malts and it works very well for this!

First time having this brand. Omg! The taste is impeccable. The smoke and peaty hits your palate and gives off an aroma that is earthy. The cask strength packs punch! You will get seasoned with this cask strength. I like it neat. This is another variation that is hard to find in va abc stores.

Nose: more vanilla and sweet fruit (mango or melon for me) and less peat than the normal 10yo Palate: mouth covering, briny, vanilla, ash, bit o pungenrf spice, but absolutely not too harsh, herbal notes. Much more body vs the normal 10yo Finish: sticky, ash, sweetness, herbal

Great Islay profile. Loads of smoke before water, but not much more to it. Water opens it up as expected. Good balance of fruit and smoke. Much better with a touch of water. Not as great as Ardbeg or Lagavulin, but you can’t beat it for the price point. Great starter Islay.

Batch #008 Sweet nose, barley, Taste is strong alcohol, smoke, finish very long and ends with a bit of butterscotch notes once smoke fades With water, smoke and wood, really long finish Tasted at Laphroaig Distillery on 7/27/2016

I consider myself a seasoned whiskey enthusiasts and this one does not disappoint! Tasting notes are spot on. A very powerful whiskey that'll warm you up on the coldest nights, but it's too strong, personal, to achieve a 5 star.
