About this bottle
With their patented hyper-speed spirit aging technology, California-based Lost Spirits has caught the attention of the spirits industry, and the Colonial-American Inspired Rum is their genesis and calling card. It’s the first rum crafted via their complete and now patented maturation process involving heat, light, and charred wooden blocks to create the equivalent of twenty years of barrel aging in a week’s time. Although other distilleries are now licensing this maturation technology, the Colonial American Inspired rum is the prototype, proving its viability. Don’t put too much stock in the “Colonial Inspired” part of the name, however. While rum was produced in colonial America, it wasn’t considered to be of great quality--the label even reads, “This probably tastes a lot better than colonial rum did.” Bottles are very hard to come by as it’s made in extremely limited quantities of only a few hundred bottles, sold only through Bounty Hunter Rare Wine & Spirits, bringing a hefty premium over other Lost Spirits rums.
