Dried fruit on the nose, Caramel and saw dust in the mouth, with a dry finish that comes from the Chardonnay barrels I would think.
About this bottle
The trend of experimentation seems to be ever more prevalent in young American whiskey brands and McKenzie is no exception. The mashbill is seemingly familiar (70% corn, 20% rye and 10% malted barley) however, the corn and rye are sourced from local area farmers. Then, after going through a double pot-still distillation, it is aged a minimum of 3 years in charred American oak.

Had the pleasure of tasting this at 3 different places in the Finger Lakes, including Finger Lakes Distilling. Very enjoyable!
Nose of dusty, roasted grains. Cotton soft mouth. Raw dough, grains, unsalted pumpkin seeds with a spices barrel finish.
Had this at The Flatiron Room. What's funny is that it was my fave of the night, 4 stars, but it has a low rating
Awesome drinking this in the finger lakes. Love the fore and after... a little sweet in the middle.
Tasty! Sharp at first but after a few sips, I seemed to get more flavor. Good bourbon
