cascode 4.8

Nose: Sweet juniper and juicy citrus. A floral bouquet in the background and pine needle traces. Warm spicy tones simmer underneath the main aromas. Palate: Sweet and creamy arrival that expands into a ginger, cinnamon and sweet pepper development with a herbal background reminiscent of bouquet garni. As it develops, the pine needle note shows up again. The texture is rich and warming. Finish: Medium/short. The sweetness fades out into a grassy herbal aftertaste with traces of lavender, and it leaves you with a cosy feeling. A very enjoyable and well balanced gin that is pleasant to drink neat but also plays well with tonic. It has great body without being boisterous or placing too much emphasis on the juniper. I tried it with Fever Tree Mediterranean, Fever Tree Premium Indian and Schweppes Indian but it has sufficient presence to work well with anything. I'd think you could use some of the flavoured tonics like Fever Tree Lemon or Capi Native Botanical with this with great success. At the asking price it is competing against a wide range of similarly expressive artisan gins, but it more than stands up to the challenge. I tasted this from a sample gifted to me by a work colleague of Mrs Cascode (thank you, Wei!) who purchased it as a TRE. It now has local distribution and I picked up a bottle today. "Excellent" : 89/100 (4.75 stars)

The last in the series of drams sent to me by @cascode. This is a nice one both straight and excellent with an East Imperial tonic. 4 straight and 4.25 with the tonic. Thanks once again cascode for the amazing diversity in tasting across the spirit world. I doubt I'll ever get to try such diversity in a tasting set ever again! Update: This gin has ruined most other gins for me. Usually I get bored of a bottle and give it away...of any type of spirit. This gin after the sample from @cascode I bought and finished an entire bottle in record time. I avoided buying it again as it was too addictive. Now I'm drinking other gin I thought meh night and day it is waaay better. Unfortunately it's sold out at my usual retailer..buy buy with confidence...4.25 in the overall spirit world upgraded to a 4.5 in the gin world. VFM in this day and age is astounding

A really unique gin different to most, smooth with floral and citrus notes TASTING NOTES Lemon Balm & Shredded Ginger with a unique flavour from wild Irish gorse flower TASTE: Spice pine and notes of earthy woodland frost, balanced with a burst of citrus. FINISH: Clean & long with a lingering rooted orange citrus & slowly roasted spice.

Clean, bright, complex, this gin is my favorite and is more than 50% of the reason why I want to go back to Ireland. I wish this was available in the states.
