I am a professional photographer and have been involved with the spirits industry for many years. A few of my clients include Brown Foreman, Labrot and Graham, mclain and kyne and Anheuser-Busch. I recently was introduced to Mezcal Mala Idea and fell in love with it. I am very familiar with Mezcal and have done work in Mexico with a few different Mezcal producers. I must say that Mezcal Mala Idea is on top of their game and producing a few of the better Mezcals on the market today. I would highly recommend giving this brand a kiss...
About this bottle
"Bad ideas lead to amazing adventures" is the brand message. The adventure here lies in the exploration of Oaxacan terrain to find wild agave species. This mezcal spotlights 100% karwinskii (cirial) agave, harvested at 16-18 years. It is then roasted in traditional clay ovens and fermented with a local strain of yeast, left in exposed pine vats over 5 days. It undergoes double distillation in copper and regional wood, and is bottled fresh without further aging.
