Middle West Spirits Dark Pumpernickel Rye Cask Strength

Seelbachs Pick Aroma - dark fruits, apple cinnamon cherries, vanilla frosting aromas are all very bold here. Candle worthy Taste - Following the nose 100%.. the alcohol really comes through at the back end of the palate and in the finish.. but once the palate gets acclimated… look the fuck out. This one is just explodes with bubblegum rye with caramel, chocolate, plums and dark berries, vanilla frosting and hints of cinnamon. Massively complex Overall - Tremendous aroma, taste and finish. Viscous with a long finish. Had a Bookers Tagalong pour before this and the finish on this far exceeds the Bookers pour. I feel that some might not like the boldness of this whiskey. It’s extremely dark and full of flavor and the alcohol presence is quite noticeable. However, this is a damn good bottle and something I would absolutely seek out again. It’s extremely unique.. bold yet decadent. The alcohol is bold but it’s a friendly reminder to take it slow.. and enjoy.

Nose: honey, graham cracker, brown sugar, cherry, cola, hazelnut Taste: reminiscent of the nose. Extremely deep, bold and rich flavors. I don't have another comparison for pumpernickel rye. However, this is a delicious, high quality whiskey. Worth every penny and it beats many more expensive bottles.

2020 Release - Barrel 213 N: rye bread, spearmint, ethanol, caramel, barrel char, butterscotch, funnel cake P: apple, tobacco, smokey, mint, vanilla, caramel, rye spice F: cinnamon, barrel char, fairly sweet finish, nice long hug, some pumpernickel funk on the end

Spice for days but not a lot of alcohol burn at all. A lot of depth for such a young rye. Very good!
