Original price $99.99; Sale price $56.99 Open 1 month Nose - Shiny, green apple, fresh-cut grain, sharp butterscotch, cinnamon powder, light oak, and strong ethanol. Palate - Hot, shiny, and bitter, tart green apple, vanilla extract, Red Hots, and harsh ethanol. Finish is medium-long with young grain, apple skin, and strong ethanol. I would have never bought this at $100. I generally stay away from Irish and Scotch that is only aged in ex-bourbon barrels. But almost 50% off? And it got great reviews from some prominent whiskey critics? Why not? Well, this is trash. Imagine the cheapest Irish whiskey at cask strength with extra wood thrown in. It is so young and hot, it's unpleasant. I cannot believe people reviewed this favorably at the $100 price point.
