eagiga 4.5

You’re camping in the woods, deeeeeep inside, not coniferous but rather the deciduous kind, and you decide to start a fire. It’s been raining for weeks, so there’s no dry wood. All you see is moss, dead logs, and saplings. No way on earth will you get this crap to burn, so you light the only thing that might possibly hold a flame, a piece of chocolate cake you brought with. Not the crap store-bought or follow-the-directions-to-a-T box recipe, but this cake had homemade love put into it... dark chocolate, cherries, too much cream, you get the idea. You set that thing ablaze and smoulder it with the plethora of damp flora surrounding you. You bottle that... and you’re Octomoring! (9.2)

CordovZ 4.0

Nose- Blackberry jam; cherries; dark chocolate; dark roast coffee; intense peat; vanilla Palate- Earthy peat; cherries; espresso; vanilla; bitter fruits; cocoa powder; a touch of balsamic vinegar Finish- Long, spicy finish; espresso; peat smoke; plum jam Hmm, interesting one. The nose is fantastic, but unfortunately that’s where it peaks. Loads of blackberry jam and coffee on the nose. The palate is full of earthy peat, and even a touch of balsamic vinegar, but it doesn’t work very well together in my opinion. The finish is, as all Octo’s are, long. More espresso and peat on the finish. Not my favorite octomore, but still enjoyable.

Lyrical 4.3

Nose is heavy with dry, wood fire smoke, lightly sweet and subtle oak notes. Burst of peat and smoke on the palate with cherry and tobacco notes. Smoky all the way through to the finish with peppery notes at the end.

WhiskMyWhisky 2.3

Sweetness, no peppery 4 Flavour acidic sharp chemicals 0 Finish 2.75 very rough peatiness

Surfbum 4.3

Butter, brown sugar and light smoke on the nose. Sweet, stone fruit, and rich on the palate.

Super peaty of course, but there's a nice sweetness as well!
