Let sit for about 5 minutes β²οΈ π: Foggy brown-orange hues with not much legs going on, just noticed that the cork is synthetic (π€·); π: Some funkiness going on that I can't place right now, smells real fishy for real, cinnamon wafts, though this is 114.4 proof there isn't much evidence of strong alcohol going on, strawberry jam?; π : Can taste the port barrel influence here at the outset, thick like baking soda, baking spices and abound at the end, really dusty like you just walked into a desert storm, despite being finished in port barrels it isn't that sweet; π: Not too lingering except for the baking soda taste so your palate should be clean by next sip. Not too complex. Great for mixing. Reminds me of a stronger Sazerac.

This is absolutely fabulous. Its is a little funky and musty but then takes a huge turn to spearmint candy. The port brings a touch of fruit and swetness on the back end. Super unique and excellently crafted. Lucky to get a bottle.
Tasted with David on 8/8/2020 Tennesee Whiskey Maybe the best thing I've ever had? Chalky sugar, licorice, dates, very complex. Very high ABV but not at all rough to drink. It's surprisingly smooth. It's a shame it's so rare!
certainly interesting, easy drinking given the proof. tastes kind of like they dumped a bunch of port in, a lot of sweetness. spicy notes from the rye but drowned by sweet wine flavor on both ends
At 62% you gotta add some water. Once you do that, youβre left with quite a tasty, complex number. Can definitely taste the port finish, and that flavor serves this rye well.
I have a private cask selection finished in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. The wine pretty much dominates the nose and palate. Not my personal cup of tea.
