Shieldaig 25 Year Speyside Single Malt

An elegant, Single Malt Scotch from Speyside, Scotland aged in a mix of 1st fill Bourbon & mature Sherry casks for 25 years. It has an aromatic birth with notes of tree fruits, dark berries, caramel & nuts; while a rich life adds notes of green apples, blackberries, lacquered oak, honey, toasted nuts, candied orange slices & gingered sultans; that led to a balanced death of medium length with notes of sea spray & campfire smoke. June / August 2020 / September 2022

Absolutely fantastic Color - copper with a medium body Nose - fruit, candied apples, powdered sugar, toffee, maybe some citrus Palate - some peat, rich and sweet, a hint of chocolate Finish - first smoke, then a wave of caramel cones up, toffee, mulling spice, some cinnamon, long finish that continues to develop This one falls under “for celebration only”

Probably the finest scotch I have ever tasted. I would give it a 5 however the finish is not as long as I would like.

Sharper on the tongue than I’d like. Oaky taste. Smokey aftertaste.

Rich, spicy, more oaky with some water
