Perhaps the ultimate rum expression. On the nose, there is a perfume of self assured wood cask supporting a lively and rich rum base. Notes of saddle leather, young tobacco, gingerbread and toasted pecans add to the allure. Upon tasting, the flavor profile presents with a solid and darkly tonal oak greeting. A lot of tannins craft a dry, and somewhat tea like character on the tongue. The body is tight, well balanced, and fades on an even keel. The finish is extra long, with an almost velvety caramel-like finality. Wheteher you are a rum aficionado or a Hemingway fan, this rum is for you.

About this bottle
From the rum brand inspired by the novelist Ernest "Papa" Hemingway comes its rarest offering to date — Ernest. Seventh generation Master Distiller Ron Call selected rums from countries in South and Central America. Next, the rums were blended and placed into new, heavily toasted American oak barrels for the first finishing. Then the rum was placed in both cognac and armagnac casks. Only 400 bottles were produced. Availability begins on July 21, 2023 (Hemingway's birthday) via the brand's website. (SRP $599)
