The nose starts with a burst of floral rye spice, creamy oak and vanilla, baking spices, molasses and cooked brown sugar. It comes off as quite the dessert in a glass, waiting to be dived in to. The palate is immediately dry and spicy with a burst of pepper, cinnamon and cherry syrup. The rye turns more earthy and is joined by astringent oak. It packs quite the deceiving punch, but ticks all the boxes of a delicious rye. It feels much higher than its proof, which isnt a complaint. It is a great sipper, something to be slowly enjoyed or else it quickly becomes overwhelming. The finish is long and spicy, with lingering rye, cherry and astringent oak. It is a bold finish that definitely keeps you satisfied till the next sip.
