Plantation Peru 2010 Single Cask (Pineau de Charentes Cask Maturation)

This bottle has been open over two years and is about 5/8 full. The nose has a buttery, play dough type note, with red berries, dried bananas, pineapple, baking spices and a bit of ginger. The palate entry is easy, buttery, woody and spicy with brown sugar, honey, citrus, tropical fruits, ginger and baking spices. The finish is long and mildly spicy with honey and dried red fruits.

Well, this is subtle. Lots of good notes if you dig deep. Molasses, tropical fruits and baking spices. Enjoyable for sure, but, it does not wow me. Just average.

Sweet in the nose, balanced in the taste, woody in the finish
