Try this if you are intrigued with the classic Negroni, but need a stepping stone to acquiring a taste for Campari. EQUIPMENT Mixing glass and cocktail strainer (to serve up) INGREDIENTS * 1 ounce (30ml) Aperol * 1 ounce (30ml) Lillet Blanc * 1 1/4 ounces (37ml) Hendrick's Gin * Small grapefruit slice or grapefruit twist, for garnish (I honestly don't think you need it) DIRECTIONS To serve on the rocks, stir Aperol, Lillet Blanc, and gin with ice in an Old Fashioned glass, then garnish with grapefruit slice and serve. To serve up, stir Aperol, Lillet Blanc, and gin with ice in a mixing glass, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with grapefruit twist.
About this bottle
This Austrian gin is produced by illustrious Master Distiller, Hans Reisetbauer. He is perhaps better known for his eau de vie fruit brandies, but he also produces whisky and this gin along with a sloe gin. His dry gin is distilled in pot stills after 2-3 days of infusing 27 botanicals (including juniper, lemon rind, angelical root, cilantro seeds, turmeric, and licorice) into a wheat neutral spirit which he also distills. After the infusion, the spirit is distilled a third time and brought down to bottling proof using soft spring water sourced from an alpine pasture in upper Austria. It is bottled at 43% ABV.

A crisp, Dry Gin by Reisetbauer Distillery in Austria is a pot-still, small batch Gin, made with one of the softest waters around & produced from ‘Mulan’ wheat which is locally sourced & 27 botanicals are used (Juniper from Macedonia); there are no heads or tails used in the process of distillation. It has an aromatic birth with notes of juniper, iris root, citrus & anise; while a fresh & elegant life adds notes of apple, wheat, grapefruit, citrus, ginger, honeyed spices & other botanicals; that led to a long & rich death with a hint of pepper. Flaviar Sample: very pleasent. Herbal, juniper, citrus, mild pepper and sweetness. Would drink that every day
Delicious. Not a challenging gin, but very flavourful and a real pleasure to drink.
Would make a good G&T
