Located in Grenada, the Renegade Rum Distillery puts a focus on the microclimates of the island as well as the sugarcane varieties that are harvested there. Here, they used the Yellow Lady variety from the Upper La Calome terroir area on Nursery Farm. Fresh sugarcane juice was distilled using a pot still and the rum was bottled without aging and with no chill-filtering, coloring or sugar added. Available in the US as of August 2022. (SRP $65)

A light and soft cane juice nose. On the palate, it also has a lighter feel. More delicate and less aggressive than the Lower Crater Lake South expression, Nursery has a warmer, sunnier and friendlier disposition. This is also slightly sweeter, with notes of marshmallow, milk bread, and confectioner’s sugar. This is a great rum for a Daiquiri or a Mojito, but also a relaxed sipper by itself.
