Rhum J.M Gold Rum

Bright nose, almost bourbon-like, vanilla, sugarcane grassiness, oak, tangerine, honey, figs. Creamy mouthfeel, warm citrus, mango, banana, honey, fig, vanilla, grassiness. Compared this to Clement VSOP at 80% and the extra proof shows up in a good way. Sweet medium finish.

Following up the blanc, the Gold’s 12 months in oak shows. It’s smoother, rounder, and has some woody notes of vanilla. Quite a bit hotter due to the higher proof. But, still, lots of grassy, green, herbacious and vegetal character.
