Rittenhouse Famous Straight Rye 80 Proof

A gem from the past. Aroma is a nice rye-heavy spicy profile with a touch of fruity sweetness; Palate is sweet and a touch coppery and moves through elegant and smooth (yes I said it) in a way that’s enticing but not boring; Finish fades out a bit oaky with a sweet kicker.

Very smooth with caramel tastes. Didn't have this app yet so didn't take notes but liked it so much it prompted me to look for this app to start tracking whiskey/bourbon I taste. I had this on rocks at HipStirs Blended Culture on S. Lamar, Austin, TX.
