This rum started with a bit of sweetness in the nose with a hint of almond. As Colombian rums go, this one wasn't as sweet as I was expecting. The sweetness was there but for me was more subtle. I found the oakiness to be stronger. There were also slight notes of vanilla and almond but not in every sip. A decent sipping rum but I have a bit of a sweet tooth so I like the sweeter rums a bit more.
About this bottle
This expression is made from a molasses-based rum that is matured in ex-bourbon American oak. It is then finished in barrels previously used for aging Coloma coffee liqueur, for a combined total of 8 years of maturation and brought to 40% proof using water from the Andean mountains. Coffee filters from Hacienda Coloma are used for filtration before bottling.

Un bon rhum aux notes de café doux en bouche avec une longue longueur en bouche
Kinda meh... Week hints of coffee, choclolate and some funk
