Good not great. Tasted it neat at a restaurant while eating a spicy chicken taco. In the being I tasted the mulled spices. After cleaning my palette some I could taste the wine and port barrel finishing. It had a licorice taste that hung on my tongue. I could definitely taste the rye. You taste results may differ.
About this bottle
Sagamore Reserve Vintner's Finish is a blend of straight rye whiskeys. The rye is finished in either red wine or port wine casks, before then being blended together. The release is proofed down with the distillery's typical limestone-rich spring water from its namesake Sagamore Farm, and bottled at 98.4 proof. Limited to the Maryland and D.C. markets.

Tasted this for the first time a couple of days ago. Nice color, nose has a little port and spices. Smooth first sip with honey and cinnamon and long finish. Not much rye spice that I was able to discern. A good sipping whisky.
Rich nose of vanilla, rye, port, white cake and icing, spearmint. Smooth and medium sweet on the palate, rye, port, vanilla. Fruity sweet finish.
Nice start, less flavor on the finish
Mildly fruity, Cherry, light spice
Rye punch
