I’ll admit I don’t know rum that well. So, take score with a grain of salt. However, after reading reviews from local store, I got some to sip as a “dessert” after dinner - I love coconut. Has a distinctive flavor and smell. Know what I don’t like? Chocolate. (Yeah, people say I’m weird.) Neither the nose not the palate give any coconut from this bottle. Honey on the nose and chocolate on the palate. Did I get a bum bottle? Not sure, but won’t buy again. It’s not that it’s bad, but I’d rather have something else. I’ll struggle through this bottle neat or over ice, but I’m disappointed in the reality of my bottle after what I’d expected to find. Only $19 bottle so not breaking the bank, but also not what I’d expected.

Fruity, Toasty and Sweet: Fair warning, only get this if you want a flavored spirit. I wouldn't really be drinking neat pours of this out of a rocks glass. This smells and tastes like toasted coconut and chocolate. The spirit is surprisingly full for a flavored spirit, but you can tell its not completely rounded. If you want a coconut rum, then get this, its good. I won't be drinking neat pours of this, but this will mix easily and make simple cocktails for something easy. A time and a place for everything.
I’m not usually a big fan of rum but I thought I’d try this one as it’s made locally. The nose is heavy with butterscotch and vanilla. The palate is very sweet and creamy with brown sugar and coconut flavors. Long finish with dark molasses notes finish an enjoyable drink.
My wife likes a Malibu Bay Breeze. This, as the rum component is far superior (of course) to Malibu. The 'toasted' aspect gives it a bit of burnt marshmallow flavor that others, like Brinley Shipwreck lack.
Butterscotch, vanilla, chocolate. I’m guessing that must be what toasted coconut in rum tastes like because I didn’t get any raw coconut flavor. Still very delicious! Sweet, thick, plenty of punch.
Nose is coconut, vanilla, and cake. Quite sweet on the palate; coconut and vanilla ice cream. Too sweet on its own, but it should make some fun tiki drinks.
